Russian higher education is not divided into Bachelors and Masters; instead it is a single stage of 5 to 6 years. Since 2007, under the Bologna Transformation, Russia is incorporating a two tier tertiary education with 4 years bachelor (Bakalavr’sdegree) and 2 years masters (Magistr’s degree). Medical schools in Russia offer a specialist 6-year curriculum leading to award Doctor of Medicine (MD) “Physician”. International students have the option to choose the Russian Medium or English Medium, for Russian medium one has to take a foundation year. Fully English medium MBBS in Russia is of higher fees than the Russian medium or combined medium. All the universities follow the same term time. They start in September; 1st term ends in January; 2nd term is from February to June.
